Visa Information

Important Note: Visa requirements and procedures can change, so it’s crucial to confirm the latest information with the Cambodian embassy or consulate in your home country before your trip. Here are some resources to get you started:

Tourist Visa

This is the most common option for short-term volunteer programs (typically less than 30 days). You can obtain a Tourist Visa upon arrival in Cambodia at major airports or land borders. The standard Tourist Visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for an additional 30 days (fees apply).

Cost: The cost of a Tourist Visa on arrival varies depending on your nationality. Check the official Cambodian E-Visa website (https://www.evisa.gov.kh/) for the latest fee schedule.

Business Visa

This visa might be required for volunteers participating in programs with a strong professional component, such as those involving specialized skills or working directly with a Cambodian organization. VolunteerTheWorld.org Partner Support: For volunteers who need a Business Visa, VolunteerTheWorld.org can work with its partner organization in Cambodia to help facilitate the process.

  • This support may include obtaining an Invitation Letter and other necessary documents like proof of registration, organization address, VAT registration, etc.
  • Cost: The cost of a Business Visa varies depending on your nationality and the duration of your stay. Contact the Cambodian embassy or consulate for the latest fee schedule.

Visa Extension

If you plan to volunteer in Cambodia for longer than the initial visa validity period, you can extend your visa while in the country.

  • VolunteerTheWorld.org Partner Support: VolunteerTheWorld.org’s partner organization in Cambodia can assist you with obtaining the necessary documents for a visa extension. However, the cost of the extension itself is the volunteer’s responsibility.
  • Extension Process: The process for extending your visa typically involves visiting the Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. You will need to submit your passport, completed application form, and supporting documents (confirmation from VolunteerTheWorld.org’s partner might be required).
  • Cost: The cost of a visa extension varies depending on the length of the extension. Expect to pay between USD 45 and USD 100.
